Privacy Policy

Oboete (“Oboete”, “we”, “us”) is a personal-memory app that helps you remember the people you meet by keeping a private journal of notes about them. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what the app needs to function. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not access the advertising identifier (IDFA).

You provide:

Account information — your name and email address, received from your sign-in provider (Sign in with Apple or Google) when you create an account.
Contacts you import — the names and contact details of people you choose to add from your device’s address book. You control which contacts are imported.
Memories and notes — the journal entries, notes, and details you record about the people you choose to remember. This is the core content of the app.
Voice recordings — when you use voice capture, the audio is recorded and converted to text. See “How voice capture works” below.

Collected automatically:

Subscription information — your purchase and subscription status, processed through Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat).
Usage and diagnostics — product-interaction analytics and a device identifier (your device’s vendor identifier, IDFV — not the advertising IDFA), and crash diagnostics, to keep the app working and improve it.

2. How voice capture works

When you record a memory by voice, the app first transcribes your speech on-device. To improve accuracy, the recorded audio is then sent to our transcription provider (Groq, using OpenAI Whisper) to produce a more accurate transcript, which replaces the on-device draft. The resulting text is stored as your memory. Audio is processed for transcription and is not used to build advertising profiles.

3. How we use your information

Provide the core service: store and organize your contacts, memories, and AI-generated journals.
Generate AI summaries, “what matters” insights, meeting briefs, and suggested reminders from the notes you record.
Process payments and manage your subscription and free-tier limits.
Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose crashes, and improve the app.
Communicate with you about your account or the service.

4. Service providers (processors)

We share data only with the providers that operate the service on our behalf, under their own data-protection terms:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes your contacts, memories, briefs, reminders, AI-usage records, vector indexes, and your sign-in identity from our authentication provider. This satisfies your right to erasure under GDPR and KVKK.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR and Türkiye under KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise deletion directly in the app; for other requests, contact us at review@proksiyazilim.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

7. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. Sensitive credentials are stored in the device Keychain. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children

Oboete is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live, including by the service providers listed above. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new “Last updated” date here and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
